    luma.gl

    luma.gl

High-performance Toolkit for WebGL-based data visualization

luma.gl is a GPU toolkit for the Web-focused primarily on data visualization use cases. luma.gl aims to provide support for GPU programmers that need to work directly with shaders and want a low abstraction API that remains conceptually close to the WebGPU and WebGL APIs. Unlike other common WebGL APIs, the developer can choose to use the parts of luma.gl that support their use case and leave the others behind. While generic enough to be used for general 3D rendering, luma.gl's mandate is primarily to support GPU needs of data visualization frameworks in the vis.gl suite.

    Descend

    Descend

Program for drawing 3D surfaces from parametric equations

Descend is an open source program for drawing 3D surfaces from parametric equations. It uses a custom, very fast language called Misc to calculate the geometry. It also uses OpenGL to render scenes with high quality shaders. Website: https://descend.mimec.org/

    BinaryView

    Show binary data

BinaryView is able to show 2d binary data either as xy-plot or using a simple fragment shader. Standard shaders like simple color mapping or a relief shading for digital elevation data already exist, but you can also write your own shader. As an example, the screenshots show Mars MOLA topographic data taken from http://pds-geosciences.wustl.edu/missions/mgs/megdr.html

    Hyperballs
...This type of depiction is particularly useful to represent dynamic phenomena, such as the evolution of non covalent bonds and takes advantage of GPU capabilities. HyperBalls are now fully integrated into the UnityMol software and are actively developed in that context. You will find the most up-to-date versions of the shaders in the http://unitymol.sourceforge.net project.
