    Surrogates.jl

    Surrogates.jl

Surrogate modeling and optimization for scientific machine learning

A surrogate model is an approximation method that mimics the behavior of a computationally expensive simulation. In more mathematical terms: suppose we are attempting to optimize a function f(p), but each calculation of f is very expensive. It may be the case we need to solve a PDE for each point or use advanced numerical linear algebra machinery, which is usually costly. The idea is then to develop a surrogate model g which approximates f by training on previous data collected from evaluations of f.

    geemap

    geemap

A Python package for interactive geospaital analysis and visualization

A Python package for interactive geospatial analysis and visualization with Google Earth Engine. Geemap is a Python package for geospatial analysis and visualization with Google Earth Engine (GEE), which is a cloud computing platform with a multi-petabyte catalog of satellite imagery and geospatial datasets. During the past few years, GEE has become very popular in the geospatial community and it has empowered numerous environmental applications at local, regional, and global scales. GEE provides both JavaScript and Python APIs for making computational requests to the Earth Engine servers. Compared with the comprehensive documentation and interactive IDE (i.e., GEE JavaScript Code Editor) of the GEE JavaScript API, the GEE Python API has relatively little documentation and limited functionality for visualizing results interactively. The geemap Python package was created to fill this gap.

    wavesurfer.js

    wavesurfer.js

Navigable waveform built on Web Audio and Canvas

wavesurfer.js is a customizable audio waveform visualization, built on top of Web Audio API and HTML5 Canvas. With wavesurfer.js you can create anything from an HTML5 audio player to a sophisticated DJ application. wavesurfer.js works only in modern browsers supporting Web Audio. It will fallback to Audio Element without graphics in other browsers (IE 11 and lower). You can also try wavesurfer.swf which is a Flash-based fallback. The audio will start playing as you press play. A thin line will be displayed until the whole audio file is downloaded and decoded to draw the waveform. Web Audio needs the whole file to decode it in the browser. You can however load pre-decoded waveform data to draw the waveform immediately. wavesurfer.js runs on modern browsers supporting Web Audio, including Firefox, Chrome, Safari (desktop and mobile) and Opera.

    Coverage.jl

    Coverage.jl

Take Julia code coverage and memory allocation results, do useful thin

Julia can track how many times, if any, each line of your code is run. This is useful for measuring how much of your code base your tests actually test, and can reveal the parts of your code that are not tested and might be hiding a bug. You can use Coverage.jl to summarize the results of this tracking or to send them to a service like Coveralls.io or Codecov.io. Julia can track how much memory is allocated by each line of your code. This can reveal problems like type instability, or operations that you might have thought were cheap (in terms of memory allocated) but aren't (i.e. accidental copying).

    StellarGraph

    StellarGraph

    Machine Learning on Graphs

StellarGraph is a Python library for machine learning on graphs and networks. The StellarGraph library offers state-of-the-art algorithms for graph machine learning, making it easy to discover patterns and answer questions about graph-structured data. It can solve many machine learning tasks. Graph-structured data represent entities as nodes (or vertices) and relationships between them as edges (or links), and can include data associated with either as attributes. For example, a graph can contain people as nodes and friendships between them as links, with data like a person’s age and the date a friendship was established. StellarGraph supports the analysis of many kinds of graphs. StellarGraph is built on TensorFlow 2 and its Keras high-level API, as well as Pandas and NumPy. It is thus user-friendly, modular and extensible. It interoperates smoothly with code that builds on these, such as the standard Keras layers and scikit-learn.
