    classic.tplx

    classic.tplx

A more accurate representation of jupyter notebooks

A more accurate representation of Jupyter notebooks when converting to pdfs. This template was designed to make converted Jupyter notebooks look (almost) identical to the actual notebook. If something doesn't exist in the original notebook then it doesn't belong in the conversion. As of nbconvert 5.5.0, the majority of these improvements have been merged into nbconvert's default template. Version 3.x of this package will continue to support nbconvert 5.5.0 and lower, whereas in the future version 4.x will only support nbconvert 5.5.0 and newer. Versions 3.x, and 4.x will overlap support for nbconvert version 5.5.0.

    gramm

    gramm

Gramm is a complete data visualization toolbox for Matlab

Gramm is a MATLAB toolbox that enables the rapid creation of complex, publication-quality figures. Its design philosophy focuses on a declarative approach, where users specify the desired end result, as opposed to the traditional imperative method involving for loops, if/else statements, etc. The MATLAB implementation of gramm is inspired by the "grammar of graphics" principles (Wilkinson 1999) and the ggplot2 library for R by Hadley Wickham. As a reference to this inspiration, gramm stands for GRAMmar of graphics for MATLAB. A similar library called Seaborn also exists for Python. Gramm has been used in many publications from varied fields and is particularily suited for neuroscience, from human movement psychophysics (Morel et al. 2017), to electrophysiology (Morel et al. 2016; Ferrea et al. 2017), human functional imaging (Wan et al. 2017) and animal training (Berger et al. 2017).

    BetaML.jl

    BetaML.jl

    Beta Machine Learning Toolkit

The Beta Machine Learning Toolkit is a package including many algorithms and utilities to implement machine learning workflows in Julia, Python, R and any other language with a Julia binding. All models are implemented entirely in Julia and are hosted in the repository itself (i.e. they are not wrapper to third-party models). If your favorite option or model is missing, you can try to implement it yourself and open a pull request to share it (see the section Contribute below) or request its implementation. Thanks to its JIT compiler, Julia is indeed in the sweet spot where we can easily write models in a high-level language and still have them running efficiently.

    Bumper.jl

    Bumper.jl

    Bring Your Own Stack

Bumper.jl is a package that aims to make working with bump allocators (also known as arena allocators) easier and safer. You can dynamically allocate memory to these bump allocators, and reset them at the end of a code block, just like Julia's stack. Allocating to a bump allocator with Bumper.jl can be just as efficient as stack allocation. Bumper.jl is still a young package, and may have bugs. Let me know if you find any.

    DiffOpt.jl

    DiffOpt.jl

Differentiating convex optimization programs w.r.t. program parameters

DiffOpt.jl is a package for differentiating convex optimization programs (JuMP.jl or MathOptInterface.jl models) with respect to program parameters. Note that this package does not contain any solver. This package has two major backends, available via the reverse_differentiate! and forward_differentiate! methods, to differentiate models (quadratic or conic) with optimal solutions. Differentiable optimization is a promising field of convex optimization and has many potential applications in game theory, control theory and machine learning. Recent work has shown how to differentiate specific subclasses of convex optimization problems. But several applications remain unexplored. With the help of automatic differentiation, differentiable optimization can have a significant impact on creating end-to-end differentiable systems to model neural networks, stochastic processes, or a game.

    IntervalRootFinding.jl

Find all roots of a function in a guaranteed way with Julia

This package provides guaranteed methods for finding roots of functions, i.e. solutions to the equation f(x) == 0 for a function f. To do so, it uses methods from interval analysis, using interval arithmetic from the IntervalArithmetic.jl package by the same authors. The basic function is roots. A standard Julia function and an interval is provided and the roots function return a list of intervals containing all roots of the function located in the starting interval.

    JLD.jl

    JLD.jl

Saving and loading julia variables while preserving native types

JLD, for which files conventionally have the extension .jld, is a widely used format for data storage with the Julia programming language. JLD is a specific "dialect" of HDF5, a cross-platform, multi-language data storage format most frequently used for scientific data. By comparison with "plain" HDF5, JLD files automatically add attributes and naming conventions to preserve type information for each object. For lossless storage of arbitrary Julia objects, the only other complete solution appears to be Julia's serializer, which can be accessed via the serialize and deserialize commands. However, because the serializer is also used for inter-process communication, long-term backward compatibility is currently uncertain. (The JLDArchives repository exists to test the compatibility of older JLD file formats.) If you choose to save data using the serializer, please use the file extension .jls to distinguish the files from .jld files.
