    JuliaWorkshop

    JuliaWorkshop

Intensive Julia workshop that takes you from zero to hero

This is an intensive workshop for the Julia language, composed out of three 2-hour segments. It targets people already familiar with programming, so that the established basics such as for-loops are skipped through quickly and efficiently. Nevertheless, it assumes only rudimentary programming familiarity and does explain concepts that go beyond the basics. The goal of the workshop is to take you from zero to hero (regarding Julia): even if you know nothing about Julia, by the end you should...

    EAGO.jl

    EAGO.jl

A development environment for robust and global optimization

...Most operators supported by modern automatic differentiation (AD) packages (e.g., +, sin, cosh) are supported by EAGO and a number of utilities for sanitizing native Julia code and generating relaxations on a wide variety of user-defined functions have been included. Currently, EAGO supports problems that have a priori variable bounds defined and have differentiable constraints.

    Reduce.jl

    Reduce.jl

Symbolic parser for Julia language term rewriting using REDUCE algebra

...It can be used interactively for simple calculations (as illustrated in the screenshot below) but also provides a full programming language, with a syntax similar to other modern programming languages. REDUCE supports alternative user interfaces including Run-REDUCE, TeXmacs and GNU Emacs. REDUCE (and its complete source code) is available free of charge for most common computing systems, in some cases in more than one version for the same machine. The manual and other support documents and tutorials are also included in the distributions.

    Enzyme.jl

    Enzyme.jl

Julia bindings for the Enzyme automatic differentiator

...This is very much a work in progress and bug reports/discussion is greatly appreciated. Enzyme is a plugin that performs automatic differentiation (AD) of statically analyzable LLVM. It is highly-efficient and its ability perform AD on optimized code allows Enzyme to meet or exceed the performance of state-of-the-art AD tools.

    NBInclude.jl

    NBInclude.jl

import code from IJulia Jupyter notebooks into Julia programs

...The goal of this package is to make notebook files just as easy to incorporate into Julia programs as ordinary Julia (.jl) files, giving you the advantages of a notebook (integrated code, formatted text, equations, graphics, and other results) while retaining the modularity and re-usability of .jl files.

    Books.jl

    Books.jl

    Create books with Julia

...Via Pandoc, the package can live serve a website and build various outputs including a website and PDF. For many standard output types, such as DataFrames and plots, the package can run your code and will automatically handle proper embedding in the output documents, and also try to guess suitable captions and labels. Also, it is possible to work via the live server, which shows changes within seconds.

    Bayesian Julia

    Bayesian Julia

Bayesian Statistics using Julia and Turing

Bayesian statistics is an approach to inferential statistics based on Bayes' theorem, where available knowledge about parameters in a statistical model is updated with the information in observed data. The background knowledge is expressed as a prior distribution and combined with observational data in the form of a likelihood function to determine the posterior distribution. The posterior can also be used for making predictions about future events. Bayesian statistics is a departure from...

    CliMA Land

    CliMA Land

    Everything within the Land model

...Therefore, we deliver CliMA Land via a patch of packages (also referred to as sub-modules) to reduce the time used to initialize a research project. As a result, the repository is more a collection of tutorials and examples for users, rather than a place to store the code for all sub-modules. This project is supposed to be a community effort, leveraging all the work that has been done in Land Surface Modeling from various groups around the world. The ultimate goal is to build a bio-physical model that represents the state of the art and can be coupled to the CliMA Earth System Model (ESM), i.e. Caltech's CliMA initiative.

    Spark.jl

    Spark.jl

    Julia binding for Apache Spark

...Spark.jl provides an interface to Apache Spark™ platform, including SQL / DataFrame and Structured Streaming. It closely follows the PySpark API, making it easy to translate existing Python code to Julia. Spark.jl supports multiple cluster types (in client mode), and can be considered as an analog to PySpark or RSpark within the Julia ecosystem. It supports running within on-premise installations, as well as hosted instances such as Amazon EMR and Azure HDInsight.

    Soss

    Soss

    Probabilistic programming via source rewriting

Soss is a library for probabilistic programming. Soss and DynamicPPL are both maturing and becoming more complete, so the above will change over time. It's also worth noting that we (the Turing team and I) hope to move toward a natural way of using these systems together to arrive at the best of both.

    OpticSim.jl

    OpticSim.jl

    Optical Simulation software

OpticSim.jl is a Julia package for geometric optics (ray tracing) simulation and optimization of complex optical systems developed by the Microsoft Research Interactive Media Group and the Microsoft Hardware Architecture Incubation Team (HART). It is designed to allow optical engineers to create optical systems procedurally and then to simulate and optimize them. Unlike Zemax, Code V, or other interactive optical design systems OpticSim.jl has limited support for interactivity, primarily in the tools for visualizing optical systems. A large variety of surface types are supported, and these can be composed into complex 3D objects through the use of constructive solid geometry (CSG). A complete catalog of optical materials is provided through the complementary GlassCat submodule. ...

    Starlight.jl

    Starlight.jl

A greedy game engine for greedy programmers

...Its primary use case is video games, but the power of Julia, SDL2, Vulkan, and the Bullet Physics SDK can be leveraged to make just about anything you want. With a focus on flexibility and code quality, Starlight aims to be such a framework. It includes a suite of components and integrations that make it particuarly well-suited for video games, so it is not a stretch to call it a "game engine". However, Starlight is most fundamentally a scripting layer for SDL, Vulkan, and Bullet (via the Telescope backend), meaning it can be used for any application that needs high-performance rendering and physics. ...

    Geodesy.jl

    Geodesy.jl

Work with points defined in various coordinate systems

...The primary feature of Geodesy is to define and perform coordinate transformations in a convenient and safe framework, leveraging the CoordinateTransformations package. Transformations are accurate and efficient and implemented in native Julia code (with many functions being ported from Charles Karney's GeographicLib C++ library), and some common geodetic datums are provided for convenience.

    ReplMaker.jl

    ReplMaker.jl

Simple API for building repl modes in Julia

The idea behind ReplMaker.jl is to make a tool for building (domain-specific) languages in Julia. Suppose you've invented some language called MyLang and you've implemented a parser that turns MyLang code into Julia code which is then supposed to be executed by the Julia runtime. With ReplMaker.jl, you can simply hook your parser into the package and ReplMaker will then create a REPL mode where end users just type MyLang code and have it executed automatically. My hope is for this to be useful to someone who implements a full language or DSL in Julia that uses syntax not supported by Julia's parser and doesn't want to deal with the headache of making their own REPL mode.

    ArgCheck.jl

    ArgCheck.jl

    Package for checking function arguments

Package for checking function arguments. @argcheck code is as fast as @assert or a hand written if. That being said it is possible to erase argchecks, much like one can erase bounds checking using @inbounds. This feature is currently experimental. It may be silently changed or removed without increasing the major ArgCheck version number.

    julia-vim

    julia-vim

    Vim support for Julia.

Vim support for Julia. This plug-in adds some functionality to substitute LaTeX code sequences (e.g. \alpha) with corresponding Unicode symbols (e.g. α). By default, these substitutions must be triggered explicitly by pressing the Tab key, as in the Julia command line (the REPL); however, an automatic, as-you-type mode can also be activated, and a method based on keymap is also available. This feature also works in command mode, e.g. when searching the files with the / or ?
