VeraCrypt is a free disk encryption software brought to you by IDRIX (https://www.idrix.fr) and based on TrueCrypt 7.1a. It adds enhanced security to the algorithms used for system and partitions encryption making it immune to new developments in brute-force attacks. It also solves many vulnerabilities and security issues found in TrueCrypt. This enhanced security adds some delay ONLY to the opening of encrypted partitions without any performance impact to the application use phase. This is acceptable to the legitimate owner but it makes it much harder for an attacker to gain access to the encrypted data. ShadowsocksX-NG is the new ShadowsocksX, a secure socks5 proxy for accessing restricted sites or services on macOS. ShadowsocksX-NG was created separately from the original implementation as there had been too much unused code and dependencies of the ss-local source code in the original that had to be maintained. As such it was difficult to update. ShadowsocksX-NG has just a copy of ss-local from Homebrew, and its GUI code has been rewritten in Swift. It now runs as a background service rather than an in-app process, so the ss-local may still be running even after you quit the app. ShadowsocksX-NG also has an added manual mode so you can configure your apps to use the socks5 proxy manually without configuring the system proxy settings. -

The Amazon DynamoDB Encryption Client for Python provides client-side encryption of Amazon DynamoDB items to help you to protect your table data before you send it to DynamoDB. It provides an implementation of the Amazon DynamoDB Encryption Client that is fully compatible with the Amazon DynamoDB Encryption Client for Java. The helper clients provide a familiar interface but the actual item encryption and decryption is handled by a low-level item encryptor. You usually will not need to interact with these low-level functions, but for certain advanced use cases it can be useful. If you do choose to use the item encryptor functions directly, you will need to provide a CryptoConfig for each call. By default, the helper clients use your attribute actions and cryptographic materials provider to build the CryptoConfig that is provided to the item encryptor. For some advanced use cases, you might want to provide a custom CryptoConfig for specific operations. -

s2n-quic is AWS’s open-source implementation of the IETF QUIC transport protocol, written in Rust and designed for performance, security, and modern usage. QUIC is a UDP-based, multiplexed, encrypted transport layer that underpins HTTP/3 and addresses issues such as head-of-line blocking and faster handshake times compared to TCP+TLS. This library integrates with AWS’s s2n-tls or rustls for the TLS 1.3 handshake and leverages Rust’s memory and thread safety guarantees to deliver a robust implementation. It is built with configurability in mind—you can tune congestion control (like CUBIC), pacing, packet size discovery, and other advanced network behaviors. Extensive testing (unit, fuzz, interop) ensures protocol compliance and interoperability with other implementations. Because it is open-source under Apache 2.0, organizations can integrate it into services where low latency, multiple streams, or mobility (connection migration) matter. -
