The 1-dimensional gas-dynamics code. More information in http://www.openwam.com Modeling is an important technique for the optimization of internal combustion engines (ICE). The use of calculation models together with experimental tests is producing unquestionable successes due to the fact that both techniques complement each other. 1D wave action models simplify the engine by means of ducts, where only one dimension is considered, and volumes where mass accumulation is considered and the gas properties are uniform in the entire element. Finally, non dimensional models are used to solve connections between 1D and 0D elements. Thanks to more than 20 years, more than 10 PhD Thesis and many research projects and publications, CMT-Motores Térmicos has developed an own 1D gasdynamic tool called OpenWAMTM which gathers an important know-how on air management, compressible flow, turbocharging, chemical species tracking, numerical analysis and many other aspects of engine modeling.

jEPlus - Parametrics for E+ and TRNSYS

Parametric analysis is often needed for exploring design options, especially when a global optimization method is not available, or the optimization result is in doubt. Parametric analysis can also be applied to all design variables simultaneously, which forms an exhaustive search that, providing that the search grid is fine enough, will guarantee a global optimum solution. In order to perform complex parametric analyses on multiple parameters with more than a handful of alternative values each, a tool to generate commands for the simulation model to run, and to collect results afterwards will be needed. jEPlus has been developed as such a parametric tool for EnergyPlus. Impact is an explicit Finite Element Program Suite which simulates dynamic impact events. It has a range of elements, contact handling and different material laws. Models can be created, solved and analyzed with the included pre- and postprocessor. Impact is based on an Explicit Time stepping algorithm. These kind of codes are used to simulate dynamic phenomena such as car crashes and similar, usually involving large deformations.

Advanced Simulation Library (ASL) is a free and open source multiphysics simulation software package. Its computational engine is based, among others, on the Lattice Boltzmann Methods (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lattice_Boltzmann_methods) and is written in OpenCL (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/OpenCL) which enable extraordinarily efficient deployment (http://asl.org.il/benchmarks) on a variety of massively parallel architectures, ranging from inexpensive FPGAs, DSPs and GPUs up to heterogeneous clusters and supercomputers. The engine is hidden entirely behind C++ classes, so that no OpenCL knowledge is required from application programmers. ASL can be utilized to model various coupled physical and chemical phenomena and employed in a multitude of fields: computational fluid dynamics, virtual sensing, industrial process data validation and reconciliation, image-guided surgery, computer-aided engineering, high-performance scientific computing, etc.. -

Automatic Drawing Generation
A canvas library for generating technical drawings
The ADG library (Automatic Drawing Generation) is a set of functions focused on automating the drawing of mechanical parts. It is not a CAD system but a GObject-based library where a custom application can put common CAD entities such as paths, hatches and dimensions, to automatically create technical drawings. A demo application is provided in order to show the capabilities of the canvas. Although it is possible to interact with the library directly in C (that is what the adg-demo program is doing), the canvas is expected to be used from higher level languages, much in the same way as what done in the GNOME stack. Lua bindings based on LGI are already provided out of the box. The adg-lua project, downloadable from the "Files" section, provides Lua programs and demos that leverages these bindings. -

Buildes is an integrated development environment that assists the user in creating building information. It reads a text (session) file from which it compiles the information. It then allows the user to browse, analyze and export the resulting building knowledge. The compilation system is written in pure Python. The building components created are rendered in PythonOCC. The GUI is written using PyQt. -

An Open source Analysis and SImulation Toolbox for Fuel Cells
FAST is an Analysis and Simulation Toolbox (FAST) for Fuel Cells (FC) FAST-FC is the doctorate work of David B. Harvey and was developed with support from the U.S. DOE, Ballard, and Queen's University. Derivative works of FAST-FC include FC-APOLLO which is a forked branch of this project intended to capture the code state at the exit of the funded DOE project. FAST-FC is the open and active community branch. FAST-FC is developed and maintained by the original creator and developer, David B. Harvey. Features of FAST-fc include transport of gases and liquids, multi-step reaction kinetics, transient and steady state operation for performance and durability, and scalable dimensionality from 1D - 3D domains. Future development work is on-going in FAST-fc and our strategic development schedule includes membrane degradation, improved liquid water transport models through the application of pore networks, and extension to stack-level simulation. -

FEDES
A finite element data exchange system
FEDES is a Finite Element Data Exchange System for mapping finite element analysis data between different FE solvers and meshes with different element types and densities. Six commercial FE solvers are supported (ABAQUS, ANSYS, DEFORM, MARC, MORFEO, VULCAN). The FEA data outputted can be visualized with the open source program ParaView.
