Gcc for Windows (gcw) is yet another attempt to port gcc to Win32 platform. The major difference from MinGw and Cygwin is maximum possible acceptance of Microsoft Visual C++ source code and intended binary compatibility with Microsoft Visual C++.

jRate is a real-time Java compiler and runtime system (based on GNU GCJ) with support for much of the Real-Time Specification for Java (RTSJ), including threading constructs with real-time constraints, asynchronous event handling, and memory regions.

The software generates automatically concurrency control code based on a given specification. Specifications consist of a description of the concurrency constraints, a state machine description of the processes and/or threads that are to be coordinated, and the C code associated with each state of the state machines. The output of the software is a C program containing the implementation of the concurrency constraints and the segments of code given in the specification.
