smartmontools contains utility programs (smartctl, smartd) to control/monitor storage systems using the Self-Monitoring, Analysis and Reporting Technology System (S.M.A.R.T.) built into most modern ATA and SCSI disks. It is derived from smartsuite.

Ganglia is a scalable distributed monitoring system for high-performance computing systems such as clusters and Grids. It is based on a hierarchical design targeted at federations of clusters. Supports clusters up to 2000 nodes in size.

ClusterSSH controls a number of xterm windows via a single graphical console window to allow commands to be interactively run on multiple servers over an ssh connection.

UNFS3 is a user-space implementation of the NFSv3 server specification. It provides a unified mountd and nfsd program and so far runs under Linux, NetBSD, and Solaris.

GGI stands for "General Graphics Interface", and it is a project that aims to develop a reliable, stable and fast graphics system that works everywhere. We want to allow any program using GGI to run on any platform requiring at most a recompile.

The OpenSSI project is a comprehensive clustering solution offering a full, highly available SSI environment for Linux. Goals for OpenSSI Clusters include availability, scalability and manageability, built from standard servers.

ClusterIt is a collection of clustering tools to allow simple administration of groups of UNIX machines. It can also be used to facilitate parallel shell scripting, and compiling.

JPPF makes it easy to parallelize computationally intensive tasks and execute them on a Grid.

LINX is a distributed communication protocol stack for transparent inter node and interprocess communication for a heterogeneous mix of systems. For latest versions, see https://linux.enea.com/linx/. This project is no longer active and there are thus no further releases planned. As an alternative, a completely user space implementation of the LINX protocol on Linux (User-Mode LINX for Linux) has been developed. rshd is a multithreaded daemon service that listens for connections on port 514 (tcp port for the shell/cmd protocol), runs commands passed by clients and sends back the results.

BSPonMPI is an implementation of the BSPlib standard on top of MPI. Both MPI and BSPlib are API's of communication routines meant for parallel computing, but BSPlib is easier to learn and its performance easier to predict.

MooseFS (MFS) is a fault tolerant, highly performing, scaling-out, network distributed file system. It spreads data over several physical servers which are visible to the user as one resource.
