    The FreeMoCap Project

    The FreeMoCap Project

    Free Motion Capture for Everyone

FreeMoCap is an open-source markerless motion capture system that enables users to record human movement using ordinary cameras and convert the footage into usable 3D motion data. The project’s goal is to democratize motion capture by removing the need for expensive suits or proprietary studio hardware, instead relying on computer vision and pose estimation pipelines. It processes synchronized video feeds to reconstruct skeletal motion, which can then be exported for animation, biomechanics research, or creative projects. FreeMoCap includes tools for calibration, recording, processing, and visualization, allowing users to move from raw footage to structured motion data within a single ecosystem. Because it is open and extensible, researchers and developers can adapt the pipeline for specialized motion analysis or integrate it into animation workflows.

    Scanned Image Extractor

    Scanned Image Extractor

    Extract images contained in scans

Scanning albums is not an easy task, since the extraction of actual photographs within scans is usually very tedious. This tool allows you to scan as much as you can fit into your scanner and then semi-automatedly extract the contained photographs. The tool also allows to extract scans of multiple single photographs (i.e. without album) Find a full documentation here: http://dominik-ruess.de/scannerExtract/ Note: The scanning itself is the most time consuming part. Maker sure you optimize that process. (see some hints on the link above.) Hint: **I NEED YOUR DATA**. If you have scans which won't be recognized well give me these (If they're not too personal etc - I won't use it for anything else than to improve this software). Lensfun

    Lensfun

Library to correct optical lens defects and lens database

NOTE: We are moving this project to GitHub! Digital photographs are not ideal. Of course, the better is your camera, the better the results will be, but in any case if you look carefully at shots taken even by the most expensive cameras equipped with the most expensive lenses you will see various artifacts. It is very hard to make ideal cameras, because there are a lot of factors that affect the final image quality, and at some point camera and lens designers have to trade one factor for another to achieve the optimal image quality, within the given design restrictions and budget. But we all want ideal shots, don't we? :) So that's what's lensfun is all about - rectifying the defects introduced by your photographic equipment.
