  • PRTG Catches Network Issues Before They Cause Downtime Icon
PRTG Catches Network Issues Before They Cause Downtime

Threshold-based alerts flag problems early, so your team can act before users notice, not after.

Reactive troubleshooting usually means hearing about a problem from frustrated users, not your monitoring tool. PRTG sets threshold-based alerts across devices, servers and applications, notifying your team by email, SMS or push the moment a metric crosses a set limit. That means catching a failing disk or overloaded server before it becomes an outage and getting time back from firefighting. Start a free trial and set your first alerts today.

    Dates

Fast calendar calculations for 10,000 years (Julian and Gregorian)

From the early 1970s up to nowadays the system date routines of computers usually mix up date with time calculations. Not only that they will expire sooner or later due to number overflow. Not only that this will make calendarian calculations extremely complicated. Fact is, that this will combine two things together which don't have anything to do with each other: The rotation of the earth around itself and the rotation of the earth around the sun, which in addition will both vary during the...

    Primes

Calculate primes by using extremely fast sorting

This project considers the problem of calculating primes as a sorting problem. It includes the most efficient tree-based sorting algorithm that is possible and shows that finding a new prime can be done by sorting the differences between the previous primes in the right way. Unfortunately it has turned out that going this way is even more slowly than trying to find primes by brute force. So it can only be used as a test with heavy load for the sorting algorithm, which can be used for...

iCAS - An Illumina Clone Assembly System

An Illumina clone assembly system using SOAPdenovo and ABySS

Clone-by-clone sequencing, as a means of achieving high quality assemblies for large and complex genomes, continues to be of great relevance in the era of high throughput sequencing. However, assemblies obtained using current whole genome assemblers are often fragmented and sometimes have issues of genome completeness owing to different data characteristics introduced by multiplexed sequencing. With iCAS the data filtering process is based on a novel kmer frequency algorithm, resulting...

    Disque

    Disque

Disque is a distributed message broker

Disque is a distributed, fault-tolerant, in-memory message broker designed for job-/message-queue scenarios, created as an experiment to capture the “Redis as a jobs queue” use case but elevate it into a self-contained and scalable system. The design focuses on simplicity, providing a minimal and clear API for producers to enqueue jobs (messages) and consumers to process them, while handling replication, failure and re-queueing internally. Disque supports multi-master clusters where any node...

    ISOLabel

    ISOLabel

Change volume label on ISO 9660 image and Joliet extension

isolabel is a program that allows you to change volume label in ISO 9660 image file after it was already created. Moreover, you can specify ISO 9660 and Joliet volume label separately, taking advantage of fancy names in Joliet together with simpler, but longer name in ISO 9660; something that tools like mkisofs/genisoimage does not allow you to do in standard compliant way. This program is written to have minimal software dependency, and work on all platforms.

The VPCS can simulate up to 9 PCs. You can ping/traceroute them, or ping/traceroute the other hosts/routers from the virtual PCs when you study the Cisco routers in the Dynamips. VPCS is not the traditional PC, it is just a program running on the Linux or Windows, and only few network commands can be used in it. But VPCS can give you a big hand when you study the Cisco devices in the Dynamips. VPCS can replace the routers or VMware boxes which are used as PCs in the Dynamips network.

    AvRtos

Small real time operating system for AVR and ARM microcontrollers

AvRtos is a small, preemtive, priority based real time operating system for Atmel AVR and ARM microcontrollers. It was written in C. AvRtos provides message queues and semaphores for task synchronization. It uses a static memory allocation scheme. AvRtos is nearly the smallest RTOS out there. Even pico]OS is much bigger. AvRtos can be compiled using gcc compiler. There is a AvrStudio 4 and Eclipse project file to get the example code working very quickly.
