Many of these modern Boom wads are in-fact only PRBoom-compatible and are not classed as Boom-compatible by myself or by historical Boom. It is pure fantasy. ReBOOM was primarily developed for GNU/Linux systems.

    ...It is a resource file/deathmatch map set consisting of 22 maps, to use with any source engine that is supported on Linux. It will not run by its self.. You will need a source port engine to run it. e.g. PrBoom or Doom Legacy, there are several source ports that compile under Linux. It also requires that you have a Doom2 IWAD to play. I should again mention that a deathmatch wad, in this case a mega wad, has been created to play online or in a LAN scenario, competitively against other players on a network. //------- At some point I do plan however to create my own Doom source engine.. ...
