    miepython

    miepython

Mie scattering of light by perfect spheres

miepython is a pure Python module to calculate light scattering for non-absorbing, partially-absorbing, or perfectly-conducting spheres. Mie theory is used, following the procedure described by Wiscombe. This code has been validated against his results. This code provides functions for calculating the extinction efficiency, scattering efficiency, backscattering, and scattering asymmetry. Moreover, a set of angles can be given to calculate the scattering for a sphere at each of those angles.

    MieConScat
MieConScat is a GUI/Console program for generating MIE SCATtering data as a table of cross sections. It can generate scattering cross sections over specified angular ranges and total absorption cross sections. It was initially developed to aid work with optical particle counters (OPC) especially when CONverting data between cross section and diameter space. These methods are described in Rosenberg et al. 2012, Particle sizing calibration with refractive index correction for light scattering optical particle counters and impacts upon PCASP and CDP data collected during the Fennec campaign and CDP data collected during the Fennec campaign, http://www.atmos-meas-tech.net/5/1147/2012/amt-5-1147-2012.html

    Mie Scattering at interfaces

Mie Scattering of a nanoparticle at an interface

This program (MATLAB CODE) uses approximations and interpolation methods in order to describe Mie Scattering of a nanoparticle at an interface. Further, I compared the results to FDTD results (if you are intered in these results, just let me know). Cross-sections and EM fields can be calculated (for the scattering on a nanoparticle with and without an interface) A full program and theory description is included in this file.

    CStoDConverter

software to convert from particle scattering cross section to diameter

CStoDConverter uses scattering data to convert a particle's scattering cross section to a diameter. This is usually non-trivial because scattering cross section is a nonlinear and non-monotonic function of diameter. The software is targetted at performing refractive index corrections for optical particle counters. The scattering data used can be generated from Mie theory (the MieConScat software at http://sourceforge.net/projects/mieconscat can do this) or can be from any other source e.g. experimental data, your own Mie code, T-matrix calculations or any other scattering theory. ...

    PCASP Calibrator

Software for processing PCASP calibration data

...This software includes data for common calibration materials, calculated using MieConScat (http://sourceforge.net/projects/mieconscat). This software can be used for generating data for other aerosol using Mie-Lorenz theory or the user can use their own software for another scattering theory. The metodologies used by this software are now published at, http://www.atmos-meas-tech.net/5/1147/2012/amt-5-1147-2012.html
