    xsnow

    xsnow

Let it snow on your desktop

Finally, a working xsnow for Gnome, KDE, etc. Based on the original xsnow-1.42 created by Rick Jansen, after the xsnow-2019 conference in Antas (Spain) we now have available a xsnow that works on many desktop environments, even Raspian. By request of many beta-testers, a graphical front end has been created as well. For non-Unix users, there is https://sourceforge.net/projects/wsnow .

MSP: a 3D flocking boids simulator

MSP: a 3D flocking boids simulator

A highly flexible 3D flocking boids simulator, conceived as a tool for

This project concerns the design and implementation of an open-source flocking boids simulator, designed as a tool to analyze and characterize flock-like collective emerging behaviors. Each boid is conceived as an active agent and modelled by a point-mass approximation. Boid movements in a 3D space are guided by a set of elementary steering behaviors, each implemented as a force acting on the boid's point mass.

    Flocking Motion

    Flocking Motion

    Flocking motion simulator

This program modelizes the very beautiful flocking motion. Environment constants and boid algorithms can be changed and reimplemented to experiment and understand the control of the whole flock. Don't be afraid, keep in mind the three rules: Separation, Alignment and Cohesion, and you'll get beautiful patterns in movement.

    Matlab Flocking Walkers (FLOW)

    Matlab Flocking Walkers (FLOW)

    Flocking walkers simulation in Matlab

The Matlab FLOW (FLOcking Walkers) toolbox has been created to facilitate experimentation with groups of "actors" who move (in the two-dimensional plane or in the three-dimensional space) interacting with each other. (We have previously published an older FLOW project, implemented in DarkBasic. However we recommend the current, Matlab+Panda3d version.)

    FLocking Walkers (FLOW)

    FLocking Walkers (FLOW)

    Boids-like walkers with 3d animation

This is a simulator of human self-organized walkers who use local rules to develop flocking and other (hopefully) interesting behaviors. "Flocking" is here used in the sense of Boids-creator Craig Reynolds. A 3d visualization is used to present these behaviors. The main program (computation and visualization) has been written in the DarkBasic language. To ask questions, report bugs etc. email to flockingwalker@gmail.com .

    Faerie Sample code

...The finished game will be available on our website. This code is sample code for the Faeries that attack the player in the exploration phase of the game. They mainly use simple flocking.

This project is a game called "Swarms". Swarms is written in Delphi 5. What makes swarms different than most games is it's heavy use of AI. Swarms will use boids-like flocking algorithms to create interesting and complex gameplay.

    solfieldmapping

Maps the changing magnetic fields on the solar surface

...This project uses known advection to transport large-scale magnetic fields across the solar surface, from the origins of the field in sunspot regions, to their demise when opposite field signs (inward and outward directed) come close together whereby the field-lines collapse into the solar interior or outward from the Sun's surface. The latter may lead to a coronal mass ejection. We use a number of other field motions described in a recent paper. These include field "flocking", tensions associated with the Babcock-Leighton magnetic field, as well as the Coriolis force, etc.
