    This library is a reference implementation of Dragonbox in C++. Dragonbox is a float-to-string conversion algorithm based on a beautiful algorithm Schubfach, developed by Raffaello Giulietti in 2017-2018. Dragonbox is further inspired by Grisu and Grisu-Exact. Dragonbox generates a pair of integers from a floating-point number: the decimal significand and the decimal exponent of the input floating-point number. These integers can then be used for string generation of the decimal representation of the input floating-point number, the procedure commonly called ftoa or dtoa.

    PoreMeth is a tool for the identification of DMRs from Nanopore data.

    PoreMeth is a tool for the detection of differentially methylated regions (DMRs) from nanopore sequencing data of two samples. PoreMeth tool is based on a heterogeneous form of the shifting level model, which integrates distances between consecutive CpGs in the segmentation algorithm. PoreMeth is fed with ∆β values and generates genomic segments with increased (hyper-) or decreased (hypo-) methylation levels between two samples, which are then evaluated for statistical significance using the Wilcoxon-rank sum test.

It combines selective bit depth, color type, and color palette reduction with zopfli DEFLATE compression algorithm encoding using the pngquant and zopflipng PNG optimization tools. This approach leads to a significant file size gain relative to lossless approaches at the expense of a relatively modest decrease in image quality. Continuous benchmark testing is available in our GitHub Actions CI. Please see the benchmarks directory of this repository for details about the benchmarking approach and instructions on how to execute benchmarks locally on the reference images distributed in this repository or with your own image files.

    Crunch is an image compression tool for lossy PNG image file optimization. Using a combination of selective bit depth, color palette reduction and color type, as well as zopfli DEFLATE compression algorithm encoding that employs the pngquant and zopflipng PNG optimization tools, Crunch is effectively able to optimize and compress images with minimal decrease in image quality. While it may produce file size gains larger than those produced by lossless approaches, the impact on image quality is often imperceptible, and optimized file sizes are still significantly lower than the original.

    A High performance distributed memory assembler for big genomic data

    ...The single-genome assembly implementation is a high-performance parallelization and port of the Meraculous assembler (http://jgi.doe.gov/data-and-tools/meraculous/). The MetaHipMer extension is a recent addition to HipMer that is geared to large metagenomes and leverages iterative kmer sizes and a specialized scaffolding algorithm to produce increased contiguity and accuracy in metagenomic assemblies. It is able to reconstruct rRNA elements via a separate algorithm which relies on reference SSU and LSU Hidden Markov Models to help traverse the contig graph around ribosomal RNA regions.
