Tango Icon CSS Sprites

By

Tango Steps

When we created our new SourceForge features page, we used some icons from the Tango Icon Library. We’re trying to pay more attention to performance, so we wanted to use a CSS sprite of the icons for the page. Our Google search for tango icon css sprite didn’t turn up any pre-packaged projects, so we decided to make one.

If you’ve been wanting to use Tango icons in your web apps, may we humbly recommend the Tango Icon CSS Sprite project. The tarball download includes .png and corresponding .css files for the full Tango core library in 16×16, 22×22, and 32×32 icon sizes. The README and examples are pretty bare-bones, so please give us some feedback on how to improve the package. Or help us out by spriting some of the non-core icon sets or whatever else you think might be helpful for open source web developers like us.

One of the great things about SourceForge.net is our high Page Rank – our project already shows up at the top of the search results for Tango icon CSS sprite.
