Arctic0S

Here they are, a family of Linux OS spins that will breathe new life into old hardware, and enable newer hardware to perform as never before. I have built them atop the robust, cutting edge, and rolling distribution that is “PCLinuxOS” [‘PCLOS’]. A descendant of the famous “Mandriva” family, “PCLOS” has a long heritage. It effortlessly pales some of the more regaled distributions, and once experienced will be the first choice for anyone introduced – it is hard to look back, or elsewhere. In ‘live’ mode, users are “root” and “guest”; NO passwords required. Installs can be done from inside the “guest” profile desktop, or from the initial boot menu option. **If you choose to enter the ‘Live’ environment, enter the user “guest” at the login prompt where asked, no password required** Currently available are the “Xfce” version, the “Openbox” [‘Lite’] version, and the “KDE” [‘Plasma’] variants. More will follow that will hopefully showcase PCLOS to those who have not enjoyed it before..

MX-Linux

MX Linux is a cooperative venture between the antiX and former MEPIS communities, using the best tools and talents from each distro. It is a midweight OS designed to combine an elegant and efficient desktop with simple configuration, high stability, solid performance and medium-sized footprint. MX Linux relies on the excellent upstream work by Linux and the open-source community, deploying Xfce4 as Desktop Environment on top of a Debian Stable base. We draw from the core antiX system and include work and ideas used by Warren Woodford for his MEPIS project. Ongoing backports and outside additions to our repos serve to keep components current with developments.
