I think projects that have broad scope and wide usage are most suited for commercialization, like community-based solutions allowing ad system or solutions that help in solve daily life problems for a lot of people. … I think there must be some kind of effort to make commercial software buyers aware of Marketplace so they can look into OSS for their needs — which can help them get their required results at reduced cost.

plug: right now we’re working on the 2008 Community Choice Awards and some backend refactoring anticipating our new data center. aside from that I’m generally lurking in the jabber channel pitching my ideas on OOP, MVC, REST, and Agile.

…I have yet to find a code tool that does everything I want and nothing I don’t want. unless someone can tell me how to do WebDav in Eclipse, or how to get OOP code-hinting and svn integration in Coda. and I don’t wanna write it myself in lisp, or type ctrl+x, ctrl+w, ctrl+e, ctrl+b, ctrl+d, ctrl+a, ctrl+v to do it. sorry, emacs guys – shameless dig there 🙁
