For our October “Community Choice” Project of the Month, the community elected FreeType, a free, high-quality, and portable font engine.
FreeType is a freely available software library to render fonts. It is written in C and designed to be small, efficient, and highly customizable. It is capable of producing high-quality output (glyph images) of most vector and bitmap font formats.
FreeType was previously voted “Community Choice” Project of the Month in July of 2017 and “Community Choice” Project of the Month in December of 2015, where the FreeType team spoke about the project’s developments and direction. Learn more about FreeType, visit www.freetype.org
