Hey! I’m doing a very short talk on Eclipse Spaces at EclipseCon in Santa Clara this coming Wednesday, and I invite members of the SourceForge.net and Eclipse communities to join me. By “very short”, I actually mean about ten minutes…but I’ll be around to chat afterwards for the whole day.
Spaces is an Eclipse Plugin that’s designed to allow developers to publish and share their work from within Eclipse itself. I’m of the mind that the best way to capture data and work from developers is to integrate as tightly as possible into their workflow, and integrating into the development environment directly is about as tight as you’d want to ever get.
Right now, there’s an adaptor to publish your work to an Xdrive. We’re working on an adaptor to SourceForge.net, which should make it easier to upload stuff to the FRS. Everyone wants to release early and release often, but who really wants to do it with their web browser? 🙂
