December 2019, “Staff Pick” Project of the Month – MX-Linux

By Community Team

For our December “Staff Pick” Project of the Month, we selected MX-Linux, a cooperative venture between the antiX and former MEPIS communities, using the best tools and talents from each distro.

MX Linux is a midweight OS designed to combine an elegant and efficient desktop with simple configuration, high stability, solid performance and medium-sized footprint. It relies on the excellent upstream work by Linux and the open-source community, deploying Xfce4 as Desktop Environment on top of a Debian Stable base. Due to its high stability, easy learning curve and good looks, MX Linux makes a great no-fuss system for all types of users and applications.

The “MX” of MX Linux comes from the first letter of Mepis and the last of antiX, symbolizing the collaboration of the two communities. Many users view it as a very stable, reliable and functional OS that works flawlessly and quickly.
