VOXOX — quick overview
VOXOX is a multifunctional communication app for Mac that brings several tools together in one place. It supports voice and video conversations, as well as instant messaging across multiple protocols, making it useful for both personal and work-related communication.
Core capabilities
- Multiprotocol instant messaging: chat with contacts on different networks from a single interface.
- Videoconferencing: host or join video calls for face-to-face meetings.
- VoIP calling: make Internet-based phone calls with integrated dialing and call controls.
Connected services and sign-up bonus
VOXOX links to popular social platforms such as Facebook and Twitter to expand your contact reach. New users receive a promotional allotment of free international calling minutes when they register (two hours at the time of sign-up).
File transfers and webmail access
The app supports sending files up to 100 MB in size; note that uploaded items are kept temporarily on VOXOX servers. In addition, VOXOX can connect to webmail providers, including Yahoo Mail, so you can manage messages without leaving the application.
Alternate option
- ICQ — available for free and worth considering as an alternative communication client.
Backup calling method
VOXOX includes a Callback capability that lets you place calls using a standard telephone line. This provides a reliable option when you don't have a working microphone or prefer to use a regular phone.
