Game Summary: Tigers versus Goats
Tigers Goats is a two-player strategic board game inspired by traditional South Asian hunting games. This Marathi adaptation of the Nepalese Bagh-Chal pits one player controlling the tigers against another commanding the goats. The goats try to encircle and immobilize the tigers, while the tigers attempt to prevent that outcome by capturing goats.
Piece Movement and Capture Rules
- Tigers move in straight lines along ranks and files, traversing any number of empty spaces like a rook in chess; they may leap over a single goat to capture it.
- Goats advance one space at a time in any direction and may not jump over other pieces; goats make the opening move of the game.
How a Game Ends
- If the goats succeed in surrounding every tiger so it has no legal moves, the goats are declared the winners.
- If the tigers manage to capture four goats, the tigers win immediately.
