Overview and purpose

Keeping a large music library tidy depends heavily on reliable metadata. Poor or inconsistent tags make sorting and finding tracks difficult. TagScanner is a desktop tag editor designed to speed up mass edits and streamline library organization by letting you modify many tracks at once, pull tag data from online sources, and export playlists for sharing or archiving.

Playback and playlist features

The built-in player is intentionally basic but practical: you can preview files, build playlists inside the app, and export those lists for reference or sharing. It’s a useful way to demonstrate or catalog a collection, even if you rely on a separate player for advanced listening.

Known limitations

• Automatically fetched metadata from online databases can be imperfect and may require manual corrections.
• The internal player lacks advanced playback features found in dedicated music apps.
• Some tag lookups may return inconsistent multi-artist formatting, depending on the source.
