What TabMeister brings to the table

TabMeister isn’t a conventional app launcher. Instead of a single list or grid, it offers a compact, tabbed bar anchored at the bottom-left of your screen, designed to give quick access to groups of apps and shortcuts.

How it works

• Add as many tabs as you need, then populate each one by dragging apps or files onto the tab.
• Hovering a tab item shows a larger, high-resolution version of its icon for easier identification.
• The tab strip stays fixed at the lower-left corner and cannot be freely moved around the desktop.

Benefits and limitations

• Advantage: Organizing apps into themed tabs makes it fast to switch between different workflows or contexts.
• Drawback: Because the tab bar is fixed in place, it can overlap with the Dock or open Finder windows and get in the way.
• Advantage: The visual preview on hover helps locate items quickly without opening folders.
• Drawback: The tabbed layout felt similar to the grid view I already use for the Applications stack in my Dock, so it didn’t feel like a huge improvement.

Summary
