Quick summary of the service
RTC-OnDemand is a flexible, shared-ride transit option from the RTC of Southern Nevada that lets riders request trips on short notice within a defined service area. It serves both general riders and customers eligible for paratransit, giving users a convenient way to reach homes, businesses, or connect with fixed-route buses.
Eligibility and coverage
General riders and paratransit customers who live inside the RTC-OnDemand service zone are eligible to use the program. Paratransit-eligible passengers can request same-day trips via the mobile app and travel either entirely within the OnDemand zone or continue on to destinations across the broader RTC network. Riders who are not paratransit clients may also book through the app for trips that begin and end in the OnDemand zone; they can be dropped off at residences, workplaces, or at RTC bus stops to make transfers outside the zone.
Reserving a trip
Trips are booked through the RTC-OnDemand smartphone application. The app supports on-demand booking for immediate travel and is the primary way to request pickups and plan transfers to the fixed-route system.
Vehicle amenities and capacity
- Seats up to 12 passengers, allowing small groups or multiple riders per trip
- Fully accessible for riders with mobility devices to meet ADA requirements
- Three exterior bike racks so cyclists can combine biking with transit
- Complimentary onboard WiFi to help riders stay connected during their journey
Combining modes and transfers
The service is designed to integrate with the existing RTC network. Riders can use RTC-OnDemand to travel to a nearby bus stop for a scheduled fixed-route transfer, or use it for end-to-end trips inside the OnDemand area. The system aims to make first-mile/last-mile connections easier and expand access to transit for those within the service zone.
