What this program does
This utility creates a desktop “mirror” of your telephone, letting you control calling functions from your PC. It gives you the ability to dial, answer, and end calls using your computer, making phone tasks quicker and more convenient.
Supported connection types
- If a serial cable is available, the application talks to your phone through the PC’s COM (RS-232) port.
- When there’s no serial port, the software can send commands through a connected modem as an alternative.
Core features
- Quickly redial from the most recent call history (stores up to ten numbers).
- Assignable hotkeys let you dial, pick up, and hang up without switching windows.
- Highlight any phone number on the screen to initiate a call immediately.
- Paste a number from the clipboard to dial it straightaway.
- Dial numbers from almost any program on your computer using configurable shortcuts.
How dialing works
The program sends dialing instructions over the chosen interface (serial COM or modem). Hotkeys can be defined for common actions so you don’t need to navigate menus: press the shortcut and the app issues the dial/answer/hang-up command. For quick one-off calls you can either select a number on-screen or copy it to the clipboard, then use the dialing shortcut.
Suggested alternative
If you’re exploring other options, consider Express Dial Professional — a phone-dialing application available with a trial version that offers similar desktop dialing capabilities.
