Mule on Android for Android

Overview

Mule on Android is a free, open-source mobile client that lets you access ED2K networks from an Android device. Built and maintained by the developer a-pavlov, the application appears in the Lifestyle category and focuses on straightforward file discovery and retrieval.

Main capabilities

• Searches the ED2K/Kademlia network for files using keywords and available sources, even when no central server is connected.
• Initiates and manages file downloads directly from your phone without requiring a separate desktop client.
• Offers a minimal, no-frills feature set concentrated on locating and downloading content rather than advanced management or sharing.

What the app cannot do

• It does not act as a remote-control interface for another machine.
• There is no option to publish or share your own files to the network from within the app.
• Advanced features common in full desktop clients (such as extensive upload controls or complex queues) are not provided.

Getting downloads started

1. Open the app and go to Preferences.
2. Locate the main switch at the top of the preferences page and toggle the core/service on.
3. Once the core is running and the app connects to the Kademlia network, perform searches by keywords and begin downloading from discovered sources.

Additional notes and clarifications

• The client uses the Kademlia distributed network to perform lookups and retrieve sources without relying on central ED2K servers.
• This project is independent and has no official connection to the eMule project or to FrostWire.
