Overview: Watching Videos on Your iPod

Thinking about viewing movies on your iPod? The device requires video files to be in the correct format and size to play properly. MoviePod quickly converts many common video types into iPod-compatible MPEG-4 files so you can watch them on the go.

Quick Start: Add and Convert Files

Drag your video file directly onto MoviePod’s window.
Or click the Add Movie control in the toolbar to choose files.

MoviePod will begin converting the selected files to an iPod-ready MPEG-4 format automatically. You can preview the results and export them into an iTunes playlist if you like.

Audio/Video Settings and Output Quality

Two separate control bars let you tweak audio and video parameters, but the adjustment granularity is limited. Because the sliders and options are fairly basic, you may need to run a few short tests to find the balance you want between file size and playback quality.

Also note there can be ambiguity about how preferences apply: it isn’t always obvious whether a setting change affects only the current selection or every conversion. We recommend confirming your preferred settings on a single test clip before converting a large batch.
