Overview

HoudahGeo is a macOS application that helps you attach geographic coordinates to your photographs so they can be viewed in mapping tools like Google Earth. It adds location metadata to image files, which can then be exported as EXIF/XMP tags or packaged into KMZ files for sharing. A trial copy is available so you can evaluate it before purchasing.

How geocoding works

For large batches (hundreds of photos), expect the process to take some time, especially when exporting or processing many files.

Limitations and licensing

HoudahGeo is designed for macOS and may be slow when processing very large photo sets. Some advanced export options and device integrations can vary by OS version and localization. If you rely on automated GPS matching, have a properly recorded track log to enable the automatic workflow.
