Product snapshot
Autostitch is a lightweight tool created by independent developer Matthew Brown to assemble 2D panoramas from multiple photos. It focuses on automatic stitching and basic post-processing, and is offered as a portable executable so you can run it without installation.
What the application handles
- Exports finished panoramas as JPEG images only (single supported file format).
- Automatically combines multiple input photos into a single panoramic image.
- Lets you control final image dimensions and the blending approach used during stitching.
- Offers automatic cropping and options for manual crop adjustments.
Configuration and control options
- Set the output resolution to match your needs and choose the compression level for JPEG exports.
- Adjust how images are blended together to change seam visibility and smoothness.
- Switch image orientation if required before exporting the panorama.
- Enable or disable auto-cropping, or fine-tune the crop region yourself.
Portable workflow
Autostitch runs without installation, so you can copy the program to a USB drive or other removable media and run it from there. Because it does not write settings to the Windows Registry, it leaves little footprint on host systems. The interface is simple: you browse to add your photos, then the software processes them automatically. Note that once images are submitted, the program does not display a separate file list or allow you to reorder or insert additional files during that processing step.
Strengths and limitations
Autostitch is well suited for users who want a no-frills, automated way to create 2D panoramas. Its strengths include ease of use, portability, and automatic processing that requires minimal technical knowledge. The main limitation is its narrow format support—only JPEG output is available—which can be restrictive if you need other formats or higher bit-depth exports.
Alternative to consider
If you need more format options or a different feature set, try ArcSoft Panorama Maker (trial). It provides a more feature-rich environment and may better match workflows that require additional export formats or more manual control. Autostitch remains a budget-friendly choice compared with paid packages such as AutoPano or PanoramaStudio.
