What the app does

• Provides an interactive map of Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) across Spain so you can find the closest device fast.
• Lets users attach photos and precise GPS coordinates to AED entries, improving location accuracy.
• Enables confirmation of existing entries submitted by other people to keep the database reliable.
• Shows device locations in both public and private spaces, increasing the number of accessible AEDs listed.

How volunteers and the public help

• Anyone — not only certified CPR responders — can add AEDs to the registry, making it a true crowd-sourced resource.
• Contributors can validate devices uploaded by others to improve data quality and trust.
• The community model helps maintain an up-to-date inventory of defibrillators throughout the country.

Origin and purpose

Ariadna was created through a collaboration between the Spanish Society of Cardiology (Sociedad Española de Cardiología) and the Red Cross (Cruz Roja). It is part of the SEC-Calidad initiative, a program focused on preventing, diagnosing, and improving treatment for cardiovascular disease while promoting better heart health in the general population.
