Over time, Protean expanded its mobile offerings and ultimately consolidated APY and NPS functionality into the newer NPS by Protean eGov application, which offers improved onboarding, financial planning tools, and a more modern user experience. As a result, APY and NPS Lite has been removed from Google Play and is no longer actively maintained.

Subscribers authenticated using their PRAN and registered credentials to securely access account information. The app supported viewing pension details, transaction history, downloadable statements, and subscriber information while using encrypted communication with Protean's pension infrastructure. Since the app has been retired, users are encouraged to migrate to the newer NPS by Protean application for ongoing support and new features.

Performance and device compatibility

The final release of APY and NPS Lite supported Android devices running Android 4.4W and later and received its last major update in 2024 before being discontinued. Existing users can still find archived APK versions through reputable APK archives, although Protean recommends using the actively maintained NPS by Protean eGov app for current Android devices.
