Play Angry Birds in your browser — free
Rovio has partnered with Google to make the hit mobile game Angry Birds playable in web browsers at no cost, as part of a promotion tied to Chrome OS devices. The browser edition preserves the look and feel of the original iPhone release while letting you jump into the action from a desktop or laptop.
How the game works
- Launch birds from the left side of the screen using a slingshot; the green pigs and their structures sit on the right.
- Each shot requires you to set the angle, power and timing so your bird collides with the pig fortifications.
- A dotted line appears to trace the previous bird’s path, helping you refine aim on subsequent attempts.
Levels and challenge progression
The web release includes well over 200 stages, grouped into themed sets that steadily raise the difficulty. Early levels are forgiving and great for learning mechanics; later stages demand careful planning, precise shots and sometimes creative use of the different bird types.
Where else you can play
- Web browser (recommended: Chrome) — the free, full-featured version included in the promotion.
- Apple mobile devices — the original iPhone edition that kicked off the franchise.
- Facebook and other social/web portals — additional ways to enjoy Angry Birds if you prefer social-platform play.
A brief productivity warning
With hundreds of levels and addictive physics-based puzzles, this version can eat up a surprising amount of time. If you need to stay focused, consider setting a timer or saving play for breaks.
Getting started
Open your Chrome browser (or another modern browser), search for the Angry Birds web app or visit the publisher’s promotion page, and start flinging birds. Enjoy the game — just watch the clock if you have work to do!
