Lost Contact — Expansion Summary
Lost Contact is the fourth downloadable expansion for the survival-horror title Alien: Isolation. It adds a new Salvage Mode scenario set aboard the derelict Sevastopol station, where players must complete a series of objectives while avoiding constant danger. The add-on is designed to test resourcefulness and tension-management, offering fresh content for both newcomers and seasoned players.
Fresh Environments
- Emergency Power Plant — a hazardous utility area filled with tight corridors and environmental hazards.
- Lorenz Private Wards — a more confined medical wing that encourages stealth and careful movement.
Playable Roles and Equipment
- Boltgun — a powerful option for dealing with tougher threats at close range.
- Revolver — a reliable sidearm for conserving resources while still offering stopping power.
Hostiles and Challenge Structure
- Working Joes — the hostile androids that patrol and investigate disturbances.
- Hostile humans — armed scavengers and crew remnants that can overwhelm or ambush.
- The Alien — the primary, relentless predator that escalates tension across encounters.
The add-on features ten escalating waves of encounters that blend those enemy types, forcing players to adapt tactics as the difficulty ramps up.
Optional Paid Variant
There is also a paid alternative mode known among some players as “Nun Massacre” that offers a more aggressive, high-intensity experience for those seeking additional challenge and replay value.
How This Enhances the Base Game
Lost Contact expands the original experience by introducing two distinct maps, additional tactical choices through new weapons and loadouts, and a structured wave system that increases replayability. It’s a compact but challenging package that complements the core survival-horror loop of Alien: Isolation.
