You can always disable this feature by going to Settings -> Preferences -> MISC , Document Switcher (Ctrl-TAB), and unchecking the box.

Concerning the case sensitivity search issue with non ASCII characters, like ö / Ö, I can confirm the problem. Can you file a bug report, using the SF Bug Tracker for this project?
When in the Replace dialog, and with localisation turned to german, Alt+A performs "Alle ersetzen" as expected. Ctrl+A would do a Select All, but not within the Find/Replace dialog. Was this the issue?

CP850 is the DOS code page for western languages (most european ones with roman alphabet). Users in eastern Europe may open a document written in cyrillic script using a font geared to render the extended latin charset. Copy/paste sometimes gets the encodings wrong. There have been several requests on this forum about "Why does it look like áéèó or similar.".
UCS2-LE is the Unicode 16...

You do have writing rights since yesterday - as stated on the main pag, it takes an admin manual intervention to promote newly registered Wiki users to write rights, because SF doesn't grant them on its own. As a consequence, please feel free to correct the regrettable inaccuracy.
Also, this means that the table showing how wrongly encoded text looks like needs to be expanded. Can you do that...

Press "Normal text" rather. If it is not there, pmlease enable this item from Settings -> Preferences -> Language menu/Tab settings.
A more drastic move would be to open langs.xml, search for ""nfo"" and remove the _nfo_. This willl remove .nfo as a recognised extension, and force all such files to be read as normal text. Yo can adjust all colours and parametrs for normal text.

Can't reproduce here. When I type "C:\", I get a dropdown list of whatever is on C:\, but I can type anything I like. What is your OS version? Any chance that some extension you recently installed kicks in?
