Sorry it was on a newer installed system and I hadn't loaded the ppa yet.. All is good!

Seems to be. Although when I click Scan and enter the Geometry tab, the paper size box is blank. I would expect it to display whatever it's set to currently for verification. On another note and more out of curiosity..... Are the options displayed in the Scan Mode tab taken from the scanner driver itself? It appears that depending on what scanner I happen to be using I'll either have a "Gray" or "Black & White" option but never both of those. I've found that Gray typically results in larger file...

I did the ppa upgrade but since I've saved the previous settings all looks the same....
