Okay cool, I've added a workaround of using rigctl directly for now, gross, but works, but I am leaving what I think should work directly in Perl commented out and when I see 4.5 in my distro I'll give it another shot. Thanks! So just to double check; what I was trying you think should work?

It's version 4.4, I doubt anything has changed here and not going to hack in a 4.5 into my distro unless you think there's been a specific fix.

I have a script that controls my Yaesu FT450 in a variety of ways.. Freq, mode, VFO, (simple) scanning, set power, etc.. Basically sort of what flrig can do, but in a simple TUI interface. I'd like to be able to turn the bulit-in tuner on/off and separately able to initiate a tune procedure from my script. Again, many other functions work so in general Hamlib and such works, just can't figure out this specific thing. I can link the repo where the full files are at in Gitlab if needed. So far from...
