As a nice and small subtask to warmup I did the visual indicator (2.1.), it is committed in r7166.

Re #1070: add visual indicator for tire wear and temperature (ssggraph)

Excerpt of mailing list discussion and ideas: Xavier: parameters should be revised, current default has too much tire life for a soft tire; locked tire should come with increased (more than now) tire wear (one big lockup should reduse tire life by ~10%); * dry tire should lose grip on wet track (cooling effect of water, a parameter for aquaplaning). Joe: * add a visual indicator of tire wear. Haruna: in Super GT teams sometimes only elect to change one pair of tires or even omit tire changes entirely...

For convenience, I copy here my original proposal on the mailing list. Background Most of the lower series have only two compounds: one slick (for dry track) and one grooved (for wet track). High spec categories have more compounds, with various systems. Form, ula 1 has / had the most of them, different systems were: ~ 1990: 4 dry race compounds (A, B, C, D from hard to soft), 1 dry component for qualifying (Q) which lasted only for 1 or 2 laps, and a single wet compound (W). These 6 compounds were...

Then could the setup menu be the last one before the race? As for naming, I would say let the user (or robot programmer) name setups as he wishes. Maybe add a comment field, which is shown besides the filenames. Kristof Bertaux Xavier torcs-ng@users.sourceforge.net ezt írta (időpont: 2020. ápr. 11., Szo, 22:49): the problem that you are going to have is that in this part the (garage / setup) you do not yet know what weather you are going to have [tickets:#1046] Allow multiple setups for a car at...

Hello Robert, thanks for this work. To add my 2 cents: 1.) For me a Setup button in the Garage screen is better, than having one more mandatory screen. 2.) Files. Besides the locations Xavier mentioned, it would be nice to have the option of saving and reloading setups, to the filename and location the user prefers. Then it is up to him to organize setups as wanted. It would be also nice to have a comment field as well, saved, reloaded and showed in the Setup menu. Think to something like "Stable...

Hello Xavier and all, just a quick idea for the long term: could the dashboard and multi-monitor handling be separated from the graphics engine? The idea is that the 3D graphics engine (ssggraph or osggraph) gets a scene and a buffer to render into. And then another module puts these buffers together (mirror for example), splits it between monitors, puts the dashboard and all other boards in top and displays it. Sorry if I have used incorrect terms, I am not a graphics expert, but I hope the idea...
