It's very long time ago, but I had problems with recover of files because of a semicolon. It was part of a music title and therefore part of the file name. Areca uses the semicolon internally as a separator between the filename and the version number. I only found this out by debugging the source code. As a workaraound, I simply extracted the desired files from the Areca backup with 7-zip.
Just installed BETA6 and it works :-)) Thanks a lot. I checked it twice: restarted my box, logged in some minutes later and got directly the secure desktop for passoword entry.
