In FireFox 3, the progressbar is broken. Instead of the "completed" portion of the bar replacing the "incomplete" portion of the bar, they are shown one on top of the other. See the attached image.
I tried and failed to reproduce this on FF 3.0.1 on Windows. What OS are you using? Was this right after an upgrade? Perhaps your CSS was not refreshed? Please see if clearing your browser cache fixes the problem.

A progress bar that doesn't complete can be a sign of a server error (gallery stopped the process with a fatal error) or a connection error.
Please reopen this bug if you can reproduce this issue repeatedly with Firefox 3.0.1.
In that case, please check if you can reproduce it with another client and if so, if you can reproduce it with another Gallery (different server) as well.
