ZNC is an IRC bounce with many advanced features like detaching, multiple users, per channel playback buffer, SSL, IPv6, transparent DCC bouncing, and c++ module support to name a few.

- Has modules to change your nick when you're detached, keep trying for your primary nick, rejoining channels on kick, etc. etc.

This is a great IRC bouncer that allows you to maintain the same nick across multiple devices (laptop, G1, netbook, etc) as well as history.
