This program absolutely works!
It downloads youtube videos by url, including bulk downloads from a list of urls - with no strings attached, and no trail limitations! No malware either (scanned with Avast)
PROS:
•No installation wizard or software downloader - it's ready-to-run.
•Easy and reliable.
•Interface is simple and useful, and doesn't have any visual glitches or overflowing text.
•Names the downloads with the full title of the video.
CONS:
•It crashes if you try to download more than 40 videos simultaneously.
•When the application is launched, it goes straight to the preferences menu, which looks a bit confusing. I think the proxy setup fields should be hidden/dimmed-out unless you check the box to use a proxy. but that's just me.
•Native playlist support would be nice.
I wanted to download playlists, and while this feature unfortunately isn't included in YVD, it can still be done rather easily. Here's a roundabout way to download a playlist:
1. Use a playlist URL downloader site (such as FavBackUp by williamsport web developer) to save a spreadsheet of URLs for all the videos in the playlist.
2. Select the URL column, and copy URLs from the spreadsheet into a text document.
3. Use the Find and Replace tool to replace all text "https" with ";https" so that every URL is separated by a semicolon. copy this new list.
4. In YVD, Go to File > Add Multi Urls, and paste your semicolon-separated list into the box. hit submit.
It's actually worth the effort to do this, because YVD is so much more reliable than specialized playlist downloaders.
Very happy, 9/10

Thank you very much for the program!

YVD was great while it worked. But Google/Youtube has apparently broken it. Now YVD reports an error for every Youtube video URL that I try to download: Unexpected error. Title not found! Hopefully Hatim will update this excellent tool.

Worked first time, unlike four other applications that were tried. Simple to use, intuitive interface.

the filename "TO: Symbiotic Planet - Available Now on BD+DVD Combo Pack - HD Clip 1" likely the ":" causes a files named "TO" to be created, however it has no file extension or size. i could not figure out how to report it as a bug so hopefully they find it here.
