  • Followup: RE: limitations of 0.9.3 and timing for 1.0

I have just started on a C++ project after woirking for a couple of years on java projects using eclipse. My C++ background is with Unix but this project is on Windoze using Visual Studio. I would like to use VS with eclipse and wascana looks to be just the job. Can we please have a status update on the main web page?.

Right now 1.0 is on indefinite hold. My time is being occupied elsewhere. Sorry, and I should update the web site to state that. But I've stopped making promises here that I'm not sure I can keep.

  • limitations of 0.9.3 and timing for 1.0

Hi, Wascana is just what I was looking for, and I'm considering using it for a introductory C++ class in the fall -- which means setting up the lab computers in the next few weeks. This leads to two questions: 1. I've played around with 0.9.3 and it seems pretty solid -- what known limitations might I face if we just use that? I need to support XP and Vista. 2. Is Wascana 1.0 still...

  • Followup: Launch failed no binaries: Solved

Welcome. The error "Launch failed no binaries" is recurrent and no answer is given on the net ... I searched for hours, nothing! I had to find its on my own. In fact, we must delete (or just rename it) the User's Windows Directory Environment Variables, Wascana will create it again and then it will succeed. Mc Toxic...

  • Improve support for workspace on mapped discs

Hi, I've downloaded Wascana to test it since I've been looking for something that bundles MinGW with Eclipse and CDT. I must say great job so far! The hello world program could be compiled right out of the box. But I experienced one problem: When running wascana for the first time the Select workspace dialog does not list mapped network disks. I then resorted to manually type the path...

  • Language packs

Hi I want to be able to see Japanese characters in my source code. For Eclipse 3.2 I use: NLpack1-eclipse-SDK-3.2-win32.zip Which pack should I use for Wascana 0.9.3 please? David.

  • Followup: RE: sdterr, sdtout

Yes, that workaround does work, but not all of the time. For example, if I have some interspersed stderr and stdout fprintfs, the stderr ones come out first followed by the stdout ones at the end... I guess this has something to do with the CDT, even though I updated mine to 4.0.3.. If anyone else has run into the same issue and has found a way out, I'd appreciate his/her comments and...

  • Followup: RE: Launch failed no binaries

Hello. I came across the same issue after downloading the Wascana v0.9.3 package. If you still haven't resolved it, here is what I did: I simply put the msys and mingw full 'bin' folder path into the Windows System Path variable string. And that put an end to my "Launch failed..." torture... Hope it works for you, too, or for anyone in the same situation.
