Our goal is to write a robust driver for the Toshiba PDR-M4/5 digital cameras. We currently have a working command-line program to graba all files from the camera, and gPhoto support is in the works.

It should be obvious by now that the project is stalled, and that it will probably not see any further improvement, unless someone steps in and does it himself. Obviously, the interest for Toshibapdr is low. Most people now have USB, and the camera is not produced anymore. however, this driver might still be of some interest to people acquiring second-hand hardware.
After a long period of hibernation, the ToshibaPDR project will continue to be developped. I expect to bring it to completion. However, some fuctionalities (like USB support) will not make it without the help of other users and/or developpers. So send up your comments.
This version comes with a much better user-interface: - getopt-driven - support for setting port and baudrate - allows to toggle thumbnail downoad, and picture download and deletion - lets you specify which pictures you want to take action on - bin. renamed to toshibapdr, to avoid ambiguity, most notably with the Toshiba laptop tools. - some code clean-up/reorganization... However, no matter how nifty this is, it's still not ready. Some of it isn't even tested (specifying directory...) Some is broken (thumbnail download) There are a lot of consistency checks and minor improvements to make until we get to a 0.3.
