Frank,
I'm afraid what I saw yesterday morning was just a temporary thing. It lasted until I tried an iPhone sync. Connection attempt from the phone causes the same type of crash. The phone says "Connection was unexpectedly closed".
I have tried several possible remedies, including the previous ini file trick, and even going as far as removing the application and doing a complete reinstall...

On windows XP (german version) and a new installed taskcoach (0.77, fresh installed, no update) the icons of the edit windows ("Edit preferences" and "Edit task") are lined up vertically instead of being displayed horizontally). The icons are still accessable but usability, especially on my low resolution display on the netbook is limited.

Found it. I´ve reopened it. Please attach your taskcoach.exe.log file to that bug report if you find one in your Task Coach program folder.
Thanks, Frank.

Previously known offending tasks now open like they should. In addition, creating a new task would also cause the crash. That works fine as well, now.
Hoping to avoid the tedious task of...

Hi Tore,
I can't reproduce the issue on Ubuntu nor on Windows. Can you please also attach your TaskCoach.ini file (should be located in /home//.TaskCoach)? Maybe there is something wrong in there. Please rename the TaskCoach.ini file to something else and then try again.
Thanks, Frank.

Uhm, wait a minute: the title of 2214043 is "Move multiple selected tasks into target folder". But the title of your bug report is "Start effort in the system tray stops working"... Which one did you mean?
Thankd, Frank.
