Solitaire Settlers of Catan computer game is a Java rendition of the popular board game "The Settlers of Catan" or "Die Siedler Von Catan" by Klaus Teuber. This project allows you to play the board game against a computer AI.
I really enjoy this version of computer Catan! Although it lacks some of the bells and whistles of the version I used to play (which cost $) it is actually a lot more challenging and now I find the other version is a bit too glitzy for me. This version is more about game play of the human user... it doesn't show more of the AI players' turns than necessary. And the skill level is definitely higher. In the other version I could consistently beat the AI players at the hardest level of difficulty but in this version it took me a while to win in "normal" mode. Perhaps this is because the interface was somewhat different that I was used to, but either way, it's a welcome challenge. My only complaint about this version are that you can't trade doubles (or if you can I haven't figured out how). But all in all it's an excellent version and the fact that it's free is just fantastic!! Thank you so much Steven!
* Fixed bug were you could play more than 1 dev card per turn. Now limited to 1 dev card play per now. * Fixed bug with longest road. Now building settlement on longest road will break its length and potentially loose that players longest road card(points).
