I note that you often say 'some bugs fixed'. I really think you should follow the normal practice of listing the faults (eg short sentence on each one) you've fixed, so that people can check these specifically. Several times people have asked - did you fix this?

Sometimes bugs are too small even to mention them.
Sometimes it fixes bug of previous version, for example, 9.19 beta fixes bug of 9.18 with opening rars with recovery info.
So it just 1-week bug.
Usually I write detailed description if BUG was important.

Will you be adding an option to compress GZIP files without storing the original filename?
I know it adds only very few bytes, but I use it for pre-compressed HTML for a website (where there is no need for the original file name), so with heavy taffic it adds up a lot.
Thanks!

The new WinRAR 4.00 beta 1 has added :
"UDF support is upgraded to UDF 2.50 revision. It makes possible to unpack most of Blue-ray ISO files;" http://www.rarlab.com/rarnew.htm
can this help you add UDF 2.5 too ?

I CAN'T add files to 7-zip or zip archives ! Is this by design or is a bug ? My OS is Windows 7 x64 and I'm using "7-Zip for 64-bit Windows x64"
Since it seems that a stable version it's coming up, can you please add an option to automatically open the folder where the files have been extracted after the extraction has finish, cause it's very time consuming, frustrating, … to have to navigate thru my computer after every single extraction to locate the extracted file(s), even windows has this option !

I don't want to add any new GUI option now.
New GUI options will require changes in 70 translation files from 70 different translators.
So that can delay release version for unpredictable time.

Try it the other way round -> open an archive in one panel of 7-zip and in the other panel navigate to the file / folder you like to add. Mark it first and then hit F or click on "Copy".
Or use the context-menu from windows explorer (or any filemanager of your choice).

NO, you can not say this! I thought you might find out yourself what happens when you click on . Mark a file or a folder in one panel inside 7-Zip's window and click on -> you will find out, that the same dialog pops up that pops up when you right-click on a file / folder and choose "Add to archive…" from 7-Zip's context-menu. This dialog allows you to add the marked file / folder to a new or to an existing archive.
Best regards!

And since the default view it's with 1 Panel the majority of the users are facing the same problem with me cause the usage of the ADD button it's at least counterintuitive
Best regards,

did you try that? If you look at the dialog that opens, you will see that at the top of it therte is a line that contains some text and is coloured blue with white letters and the cursor inside is blinking. The is standing a suggestion for the archive-name. If you like to choose another name -> well, give it in. But even more -> you can choose an existing archive! Just look at the drop-down-menu at the end of that line or -> this cute little dots (three to be specific) a little bit more to the right. Ever thought about clicking on them?
Take your time and try-out 7-Zip a little more. If afterwards there are still more questions -> come back and ask. But don't expect a detailed work-shop (at least -> until you pay for it).
Best regards!

I've done that but it creates an archive with the same name + .7z instead of adding the file to the existing or it gives an error
Could be because I have a x64 windows ?
Exact steps
1 Create Test.7z with 2 files
2 Open Test.7z enable 2 Panels view
3 browse in the second panel to the third file I want to add to Test.z select the file
4 Press add select
a) Test.7z
=> A new Test.7z in the same folder with the file
b) …Path to\Test.7z
=> Message : "The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process"

we had this discussion several times before (I'm supporting 7-Zip for at least seven years, most probably eight or nine years. And each year one or two people start this discussion). There are two possible ways to handle such jobs:
- open archiver, click "Add" (to archive), make your settings, choose your storage-path and afterwards collect files you want to archive
- choose the files, click on "Add" (to archive), make your settings, choose the destination and click "Ok"
Both ways are possible and intuitive to one or the other people. Fine. If you feel the other way -> go ahead and be happy :-)
But my experience is, that most people feel opposite. Why? Most probably because of the fact, that if you are in Explorer or any other file-manager of your choice, you are at the level of these files in the very moment you decide to archive them. What is closer to your needs than to mark them and click "Add" or mark them and right-click them -> 7-Zip -> Add to… Try it, think about it, make your decision and live happily for the rest of your life. :-)
Best regards!

7-Zip works so:
1) Select object
2) Then select "Operation" for that object
"Add" operation in 7-Zip in means Add selected Objects to some archive.
If some software supports both types of operations:
1) Select "Object" and then select "Operation"
and
2) Select "Operation" and then select "Object".
user doesn't know what to do at first.

7-Zip 9.19 beta was released.
7-Zip for 32-bit Windows:
http://downloads.sourceforge.net/sevenzip/7z919.exe
7-Zip for 64-bit Windows x64:
http://downloads.sourceforge.net/sevenzip/7z919-x64.msi
What's new:
- The console version now doesn't show entered password.
- Some bugs were fixed.
Cool
Any news about adding comment to 7-zip archive file (like zip and rar have)?
Cheers

Gzip without filename:
7z a a.gz -si < a.html
Thanks for the info!!!

All Blu-ray ISO files (usually ISO file > or = 8.5GB)

@vacon maybe I should have said add files to an existing 7-zip or zip archive like you can do with any other archiver (e.g. winrar, winzip…)
I'm using add button and I'm getting "Operation is not supported" message

@ vacon
It's working that way !
Thanks !
So I can say that the add button it's not working !
