Both ZIP and RAR formats have iFilters because of which their contents can be searched. Please develop 32-bit and 64-bit 7z Archive iFilters for Windows Search.

Bump. Any chance Igor you might consider this? :) I have lots of archives on my HDD in 7z format but I cannot search their contents using Start menu search because there is no iFilter.

You see I have 7zipped a large number of PDF eBooks because they save a lot of space that way. But I am unable to search them from the Start menu then. If I extract them to a folder, they take double the space but are searchable. A 7zip search filter as it is available for zip or rar will solve this issue. Even on SharePoint 2016, 7z archives will become searchable.

Bump! Any update on this? Why are 7z archives still unsearchable using regular Windows Search?

Now I don't have such plans.
