Thanks for the report. The logic was reversed and setting entry passwords was enabled only for PKCS #12 for which it doesn't apply. Fixed in git, will be in the next release.

You cannot change or set password for private key in JKS type of keystore.

I agree that this would be a good addition. Just to confirm, by "AS2" you mean http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AS2 ?.

When I generate a "key pair" using portecle, the resulting certificate is not suitable for use in an AS2 application because there is no option to create it with "key usage extensions".
An AS2 certificate needs:

Key Usage: digitalSignature
keyEncipherment
(end quote)
Portecle can import keys containing extensions, and can display them in the various screens...
