PDSlib is a C library to parse Planetary Data System data files and labels, based on version 3.7 of the Planetary Data System Standars Reference. PDS is the format used to store all the planetary images taken by NASA and ESA spacecrafts.

A external data dictionary can be provided as input parameter. If no data dictionary is given, it will use the internal data from PSDD v1r63. ---Usage: To use a specific Data Dictionary: $> pdsGetInfoFromPSDD <definition_name> <index_path> <dictionary_path> To use the precompiled Data Dictionary: $> pdsGetInfoFromPSDD <definition_name> [pdsPsdd2c] Tool to convert the contents of the Data Dictionary from PDS format to the C code required by pdslib for internal handling. This is an easy way to handle new releases of the PSDD in C code, and can be easily modified to create the code in other languages such as java. ---Usage: $> pdsPsdd2c <index_path> <dictionary_path> ** Updated old tools: [pdsFormatCheck] Tool that enables the correctness of PDS formatted files. Now uses the internal PSDD data for checking Data Object Definitions and Data Element Definitions. ** New features: - The 'PDS Data Product' can be composed of more than one file - New configuration structure - New internal list of paths structure ** Still in development: - New way to handle 'PDS format errors and warnings'
